Dear Companions, hello!

This month of October has been filled with meetings, good vibes, and above all, first times! That's why we invite you to take a little recap of what happened at La Compagnie du Radis đŸ”„

Our first competition

When October comes, Halloween follows, and the theme of this month's contest did not escape it. For a few weeks, you participated in the search for the evil pumpkins that caused chaos in our vegetable garden! You took some beautiful pictures, as evidenced by the attached photos, the winners, and posted them on our site.

In the end, we selected 4 photos that we submitted for your vote and ... (drum roll) we have not one, but two winners 😍Congratulations to Camille and Arnaud.

They will both receive their "pumpkin-esque" gift very soon. More information about the award presentation will be available on our accounts. Facebook and Instagram.

A big thank you for your participation in this first game of the Radish Company!

Our first business cards

We have created our first business cards. As France Gall would say: "It may be a detail for you, but for us, it means a lot." These business cards represent, among other things, the realization of this activity, a father-son adventure, and a dream that is gradually becoming a reality. To see what the card looks like, head over to our section Photos.

(If you have trouble scanning the QR code on the back, that's normal. The choice of colors wasn't the best. As we mentioned, it's the month of firsts and therefore also of trial and error 😉)

Our first event

On Thursday, October 24th, we had the joy of inviting the members of the Company to a tasting of different cabbages and pumpkins in our garden. We were "Radish" to share this moment with our Companions. The feedback from them about the event makes us think that they also enjoyed the evening! 😁

In any case, we recommend that you watch the recap video of the event in our brand new section Video.

So, you’re probably wondering, when is the next one? Well, our next event will be our participation in the Christmas Creators Market, to be discovered just below this image...

Our first Christmas Market

Indeed, you will be able to come visit us at MarchĂ© de NoĂ«l des crĂ©ateurs at Rixensart from the 16th to the 17th of november. This will be an opportunity to get to know each other, share, and participate in our November contest 😘

But we will not be alone! In addition to the Company, there will be 8 other creators of jewelry, candles, fabric products, etc. To discover this Christmas market, visit the page Facebook intended for the event!

In addition to the creations, there will be soup, drinks, and since it's a Christmas market... mulled wine đŸ€«

Our first winter

And what about the garden?

We planted wheat on the 30 ares in the back. We will harvest it in March and then we will spread manure to prepare the ground for the new plantings. Speaking of manure, we are slowly starting to build our stock. We need to accumulate a total of 30 tons of manure to cover the entire garden. It may seem like a lot, but this amount is just to start the year... Then, each year, the spreading will be done on a case-by-case basis for the fallow plots.

Furthermore, if you have good cow manure or know of good places, we are interested!

To move away from this rather "smelly" topic, we are harvesting the last vegetables of the season - cabbages, lamb's lettuce, spinach, turnips, and black radishes - before the garden takes a well-deserved rest for the winter months 😮

On the administrative level, we are reaching the end. All systems are go to start our activity! 🎆We just need to (re)contact the municipality to see if it is permitted to drill a well for a sustainable and low-cost access to water. If we are granted permission, we will also need to check if we have access to water that is not too deep. In any case, we will dig a reservoir, but it will probably not be sufficient for watering during the hottest months.

See you next time!
